What OurDream's "unlimited" actually covers

OurDream's homepage FAQ sets the deal out in one sentence: the service "costs $9.99/month with a yearly plan (billed upfront as a single payment of $119.88) or $19.99/month for a monthly plan," and "Both options include unlimited messages with any AI character, access to image and video generation, and 1000 dreamcoins each month." Messages are unlimited. Images and video are "access to," not an amount. The amount is the 1,000 dreamcoins.

What a dreamcoin buys is itemised in the company's own help centre, in an article last edited on 2 March 2026 and titled, without hedging, "What costs coins?" Subscriber chats: 0 dreamcoins. Free user chats: 1 dreamcoin per message. In-chat image generation: 5 dreamcoins per image. Voice calls: 50 dreamcoins per minute. Standard video generation: 100 dreamcoins per 5 seconds, "up to 60 seconds max (1,200 dreamcoins total)." A month's allowance is therefore 20 minutes of voice calls, or ten five-second clips, or 200 in-chat images — and nothing once it is spent, because the same page states that "Dreamcoins do not refresh monthly" and that subscribers "receive 1,000 dreamcoins on their billing anniversary."

The meter moved to the model, not the message

The sharpest line in that table is about chat itself: "Genius / Lively Genius models: 1 dreamcoin per response." Unlimited messaging is unlimited on the model you are given; the better ones bill by the reply. OurDream's terms reserve the general power too, under General Practices Regarding Use and Storage — "You acknowledge that Dream Studio may establish general practices and limits concerning use of the Services" — which it may change "at any time, in its sole discretion, with or without notice." A help article names what a lapse costs: when a subscription expires, "Images and videos are blurred again, including community packs," though "Coins do not expire." The site is published by Dream Studio USA, Inc. of Dover, Delaware, and its acceptable use policy adds one rule worth knowing before sharing a login: "One person per account."

The limit that lives in the terms, not on the pricing page

Candy.ai, run by EverAI Limited of Malta, is the clearest case of the real answer sitting in the legal text. Its terms spell the bargain out in one clause: "As part of a paid subscription, you will receive unlimited access to the messaging system as well as a monthly amount of tokens disclosed to you during checkout (generally 100 per month), which can be used to access extended features like image generation or voice notes." That is an honest sentence, and it is nowhere near the buy button. The same document says unspent tokens die with the billing period — "Any remaining tokens in your account will expire and become unusable" — and that they "will not carry over or be refunded."

An infinity sign, and a memory of 100 messages

Kupid, operated by SNB Technologies LTD in Nicosia, advertises "Sign up and get Unlimited Chat for Free" on its homepage. Its subscriptions page prints a table where the free column's Messages row reads 15, and the two paid columns carry an infinity glyph with no sentence attached anywhere. The rows underneath are where the product lives, and they are weekly: photos 25 or 75, videos 8 or 25, voice messages 12 or 35 minutes, queue priority "high" and "highest." One row settles what unlimited messaging is worth: "She Remembers — last 30 msg" on Pro, "last 100 msg" on Ultra. Send as many as you like, into a memory that holds a hundred. Kupid's terms add that coins included with a plan "expire six (6) months after the date they are credited."

Unlimited, but in a queue

PolyBuzz calls itself "a Free, Private, and Unlimited AI Chat platform," then sells "Unlimited chats" as a line item on its membership page, beside "Skip the queue and have priority chat rights" and a model list climbing from a Standard model to Permanent Memory. Its FAQ is more candid than its slogan: "the AI's memory capacity is technically limited, which means it may 'forget' previous conversations over time." SpicyChat charges for the same queue position without the contradiction — "As an I'm All In subscriber… you will be placed at the front of the generation queue." On both, the cap is on how long you wait when everyone else is sending too.

The one company here that never says the word

SpicyChat's documentation is the only one here that publishes its limits as numbers and then explains why they exist. Replies are capped by tier — "Free and Get A Taste Users: Up to 180 tokens per reply. True Supporter and I'm All In Users: Up to 300 tokens per reply" — so a cheaper plan does not buy fewer messages, it buys shorter ones. Context is capped the same way, and the page headed "Why we don't always use the model's maximum context" gives the reason out loud: "Larger context also increases: cost, response time, compute usage. To keep SpicyChat fast and affordable, we set context limits by tier." Its pricing FAQ declines to promise a locked price "forever," "because we can't predict what the cost of running AI models looks like years from now."

Where TooShy lands, third of the six we could read

TooShy uses the word too, and puts the exceptions on the same page. Our pricing page lists Premium at $9.99 a month with "Unlimited messages," "Unlimited voice messages," "40 photos / month" and "15 videos / month," and Ultra at $19 with the same two unlimiteds, "80 photos / month" and "40 videos / month." Text and voice genuinely are uncapped; photos and video are counted, beside the claim rather than in a help article. Add-on packs are one-time purchases, "use anytime, no expiration," so an unspent pack does not die at the end of a billing period the way a Candy token or a gifted Kupid coin does. We should also point at our own bad copy: the Ultra card's subtitle reads "No limits, no waiting" directly above a list of numbered monthly allowances. That line overstates what the tier is.

The clause we found in our own terms

Hunting for fair-use clauses in other companies' terms turned one up in ours. TooShy's Subscription and Refund Policy, last updated 13 May 2026, defines "Excessive use" inside the 48-hour cooling-off window as "Sending more than 100 messages during the 48-hour period. Requesting more than 10 AI-generated images. Requesting more than 10 voice messages." Be exact about what that does: it decides whether a first purchase can still be refunded in full, not how much anyone may chat. But it is the only number we publish anywhere near the word unlimited. Our terms of service, last updated 10 March 2026, contain no fair-use clause, no rate limit and no throttling provision. We cannot verify from our published pages that no such limit exists in the product — only that we have not published one, which is not the same thing.

Our own numbers, the last 30 days

For scale, from TooShy's production database over the 30 days ending 20 September 2026, aggregated so no individual, conversation or message is identifiable: 44,120 messages across WhatsApp and Telegram, from 460 people who wrote back, with an active conversation averaging 64 messages. That average sits below the 100-message line in our refund clause, which is why the clause has never been the thing anyone argues about — and why nobody should read it as a description of what the product permits.

What these products genuinely do better

OurDream's coin guide is, page for page, the most useful document anyone in this category publishes: a shelf price for every single thing the word "unlimited" quietly excludes, down to 20 dreamcoins per second of audio added to a video. We publish no equivalent for anything. Candy.ai writes the trade-off into the contract, where it binds. And SpicyChat saying out loud that context costs money, and that this is why your tier has a ceiling, is the most honest sentence we read all day.

TooShy's honest limits here

Our disclosure is thin in a specific way. We publish no per-unit price for a photo, a video or a minute of voice, so a buyer cannot work out what an allowance is worth the way an OurDream subscriber can. We publish no fair-use or rate-limit policy at all, and one of our own cards still says "No limits" above a numbered list. There is no character editor and no user-built persona on TooShy, and no group chat. That is why we sit third rather than first: the caps we do have are printed plainly, but the ones a heavy user would actually hit are undocumented.

Who each one actually fits

If you would rather the limit be a term of the contract, Candy.ai's terms state it in a sentence you can hold them to; if the worry is a long roleplay losing the plot, SpicyChat publishes the ceilings that cause it. And if the appeal is text and voice that simply never run out, inside WhatsApp or Telegram with nothing to install, that is the shape TooShy has, with photos and video counted per month.

How we checked the facts

Every competitor claim here was read on the company's own public pages on 21 September 2026: OurDream's homepage FAQ, terms, acceptable use policy and two help-centre articles; Candy.ai's terms; Kupid's subscriptions page and terms; PolyBuzz's membership page and FAQ; SpicyChat's documentation. Domains were checked rather than assumed — canonical URL, og:site_name and the company named in the legal pages. Two sites, character.ai and muah.ai, returned 403 to every request, so they carry no claims here.

None of this says which is nicer to talk to. It answers the question the word "unlimited" is designed to stop you asking: unlimited what, until when, on which model, and how long will you be waiting.
