At Too Shy, user safety is our highest priority. This policy outlines our approach to protecting users, preventing harm, and handling safety-related concerns.

1. Age Verification

The Too Shy platform is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We implement the following measures:

  • Age confirmation is required during the registration process.
  • We reserve the right to request additional age verification at any time.
  • Accounts found to belong to individuals under 18 are immediately terminated and all data is deleted.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement in cases involving minors.

2. Child Safety (Zero Tolerance)

We maintain an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any sexual content involving minors.

  • Our AI systems are trained to refuse any requests involving minors in sexual contexts.
  • Automated detection systems monitor for CSAM-related content.
  • All confirmed CSAM violations are reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.
  • Violating accounts are permanently terminated without refund.
  • We retain evidence as required by law for law enforcement cooperation.

3. Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention

Our AI companions are not mental health professionals and should never be relied upon for crisis support. However, we take suicide and self-harm concerns seriously:

  • AI companions are trained to recognize expressions of suicidal ideation or self-harm intent.
  • When detected, the AI will provide crisis helpline information and encourage the user to seek professional help.
  • The AI will not engage in roleplay or conversations that promote, encourage, or provide instructions for self-harm or suicide.

4. Content Safety

Our AI systems include multiple layers of safety controls:

  • Input filtering: Messages are screened before being processed by the AI model.
  • Output filtering: AI responses are checked before delivery to the user.
  • Behavioral guardrails: AI companions are designed to refuse prohibited content categories as defined in our Content Policy.
  • Escalation protocols: Severe safety violations trigger automated alerts for human review.

5. Anti-Harassment

While our Service involves AI companions (not real people), we prohibit using the platform to:

  • Develop or practice harassment techniques intended for use against real people.
  • Generate content targeting real, identifiable individuals.
  • Create deepfake or non-consensual sexual content of real people.

6. Data Security

We protect your data with industry-standard security measures. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest.
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Passwords for payment processing are handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card details.

7. Incident Response

In the event of a safety incident (data breach, significant content moderation failure, or vulnerability discovery):

  • We will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by GDPR.
  • We will report the incident to relevant authorities as required by law.
  • We will publish a post-incident summary (without compromising user privacy) when appropriate.

8. Reporting Safety Concerns

If you encounter any safety concern while using Too Shy, please report it immediately:

9. Transparency

We are committed to transparency about our safety practices. This policy will be updated as our safety measures evolve. Material changes will be communicated to users.
