CrushOn.AI Alternatives: What the Meter Costs

By Sam Reeves, TooShy Editorial
A stack of brass tokens beside one closed paper envelope on dark weathered wood, lit by a single lamp just out of frame, nothing written on either

If you want off CrushOn.AI because a credit balance decides how long the evening runs, the awkward answer is that CrushOn.AI publishes more about its own prices than any alternative here does. Four popular ones were read on the same day and not one prints a membership price on its own site, so the swap on offer is a meter you can read for a meter you can't. Ours is here too, top of one narrow column and nowhere near the top of the rest — the conversation arrives in WhatsApp or Telegram, and the bill is the same whatever gets typed into it.

What CrushOn.AI is, and who runs it

CrushOn.AI is a browsable library of characters written by its users, with chat, voice and group chat layered on top. The service is run by TECHIEPIE LTD, a company registered in Cyprus with its principal place of business at Strovolou 77, Strovolos Center, Nicosia, and a second address in Dover, Delaware printed in the footer. Its Terms of Use were last modified on 22 September 2026, state that the service is for people 18 and over, and describe the basic service as free with message credits available for purchase. Signing in is offered through Google, Discord or SubscribeStar, and the first thing a new visitor is asked is which gender they're interested in.

The library is the product. Every card in the browse grid is signed with a creator's handle, tagged across more than fifty categories — Anime, Vampire, RPG, Gothic, Group Chat, Non-English and so on down the list — and the top navigation puts Rankings, Creators and Memories beside Home. Characters carry an opening scene, sometimes several hundred words of it, and view counts that run from a few hundred into the tens of thousands. Every card in that default grid also carries the word "Filtered", while the row of controls above the grid offers "Unfiltered" as a separate option; what the badge on an individual card restricts isn't explained anywhere on the page.

Six memberships, three currencies, one extra package

Switch the pricing page to monthly billing and six live memberships appear. Standard is $5.99 a month, Premium $14.99 marked down from $19.99, Luxe $39.99 and flagged "Most Popular", Elite $89.99, and Imperial $199.99. A seventh, Deluxe, is listed as "Retired". What separates them is mostly quantity: message credits run 2,000 a month at Standard, 6,000 at Premium, 20,000 at Luxe, 55,000 at Elite and 125,000 at Imperial.

Paid yearly the same ladder reads $58.88, $94.88, $299.99, $799.99 and $1,799.99, with Premium's annual figure struck through from $178.88 under a "Save $84 (47% Off)" ribbon. On top of any membership sits a separate Pro Models chat package at $24.99 a month or $299.99 a year, described as "unlimited, credit-free access to Pro Models" that "works alongside any membership and doesn't consume your Monthly or Bonus credits" — with a note that "most Pro Models require a membership to access". Two prepared bundles combine the two: Premium plus a year of the package at $394.88, Luxe plus a year of the package at $599.98.

Underneath the memberships are three separate things you can hold. Message credits come with the plan and get spent on Pro and Ultra models, while a category called Free Models is unlimited on every tier. CrushOn Coins are earned rather than bought — daily logins, creating characters, inviting friends — and the store page states they hold "no monetary value outside the CrushOn.ai platform". CrushOn Diamonds are the third: "The diamonds you give away will become the creator's income." What a Coin or a Diamond pack actually costs doesn't load without an account, so those prices are not public.

What the free membership gives you

The free membership is generous in features and tight in quantity. It carries 100 message credits a month, 8K memory, 200 stored messages per character, 50 recent chats, a cap of 225 characters on any reply and 20 suggested replies a day. Group chat is unavailable, Ultra models are unavailable, and only one conversation per character can be open at a time. Capacity is shared, in the page's own words, so "responses may be slower during Peak Time".

The line worth reading twice sits under memory: on the free plan, "Chat History will be deleted after 7 days of inactivity." On every paid plan it reads "Chat History is kept during the Membership Period" — which answers a question people rarely think to ask, namely what happens to two months of conversation when the card stops going through. The ladder above it climbs steadily: memory 8K, then 16K, then 24K at Elite and Imperial; stored messages per character 200, 300, 400, 600, 1,000, 1,500; open conversations per character 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30; custom voice slots 1 through 30.

"No filter" on the cover, a rules page underneath

The browser tab says "CrushOn AI - No Filter NSFW Character AI Chat - Spicy AI GF", and the page description under it promises "NSFW Character AI chats without filters" and "unrestricted NSFW AI interactions". The Community Guidelines, linked from the footer of that same page, read differently. Under the heading Imagery of Sexual Activity: "Avoid depicting explicit sexual activity and stimulation. Implied sexual activity is permitted when contextually appropriate (medical, educational, fictional representation)." Under Illegal Activities, the banned list includes "commercial sexual activity, trafficking, or pornography" — on a site whose own footer links read AI Porn Chat and AI Sex Chat.

Two more rules from that page matter to anyone who came for pictures. Realistic Images of Individual bans "real images or overly realistic AI-generated images of any individuals", explicitly including "images that might be indistinguishable from real photos". Avatars, usernames and bios are held to a stricter standard again and may not contain "any sexual or explicit content" or "nudity or sexualized imagery" at all. Enforcement is described as "a combination of human moderators and automated systems" reviewing accounts, characters and interactions. Whether a particular exchange inside a chat runs into any of that is not something a published page can settle, which is why it sits in the open questions below rather than up here.

How you install it

There's no App Store or Google Play link anywhere on crushon.ai. What the site does carry is a direct Android download at apk.co-cdn.com, which on the day resolved to a file named crushonai-s-6.34.3.1113.apk — a sideloaded install, outside either store's update and refund machinery. The Terms of Use do refer to "the Crushon mobile application for customers provided through Apple's App Store or the Google Play Marketplace", and store searches surface several similarly named apps from unrelated developers. No listing is attributed to TECHIEPIE LTD here, because none was confirmed; treat the store question as unresolved.

Ordered on one narrow question — how much you can know before you start, and whether the conversation reaches you where you already text. The order says nothing about library size, character creation, group chat, voice or images, where CrushOn.AI and every alternative below outrank us.

Page title reads "Uncensored, Zero Censorship" and the front page offers photos, voice and video. Says "California Based" and "Version: BETA-Website"; everything else is behind a sign-in.

The four alternatives, and what each will tell you up front

Janitor sells creation rather than a price list. Its homepage line is "Be anyone. Build anything.", its claim is "Join 15M+ users crafting living stories", and its own description calls it "a platform for creators building immersive worlds and readers seeking living stories". Each card prints the character's size in tokens — 120 on a small one, 21,000 on an elaborate one — which is an unusually honest signal of how much context a bot was written with. What it doesn't print is money: /pricing returned a 404 on the day, and no membership figure appears on the homepage.

PolyBuzz makes the loudest claim and reveals the cost of it in an unexpected place. Its own footer copy reads "a Free, Private, and Unlimited AI Chat platform with over 20 million unique Characters", and its page description repeats the twenty-million figure. Then the consent dialog that greets a first visit states that device data "may be stored by, accessed by and shared with 210 partners", for "personalised advertising and content, advertising and content measurement, audience research", and that precise geolocation data may be used. Free, in its own words, is paid for by an advertising arrangement with 210 named counterparties.

Joyland is the one alternative here with a real store listing, which makes it the easiest to check and the least flattered by checking. On Google Play it's published by MINDZEN AI, sits in Entertainment, was last updated on 26 May 2026, shows 100K+ downloads, and carries a 2.9-star average across 1,330 reviews. The listing says "In-app purchases" without naming a figure, and joyland.ai/pricing redirects to the homepage. Its own front page mixes character cards tagged "18+" and "N5FW" with a bot-builder pitch.

Muah.AI publishes the strongest content stance and the least of everything else. Its browser tab reads "Muah.AI - AI Girlfriend/Companion Platform. Uncensored, Zero Censorship", its description offers "AI Video, photo and realtime conversation", and the front page invites you to "Chat, exchange photos, voice, video, and more!" Beyond that is a login wall: muah.ai/pricing redirects to the homepage, and the only other things the page states about itself are "California Based", "Version: BETA-Website", and that you must be eighteen and that "all contents are AI Generated".

Our own numbers, thirty days

What follows are aggregates from our production database for the thirty days ending 1 September 2026 — counts only, no conversation text and nothing that identifies a person. People sent us 46,087 messages and got 44,120 back, across 1,009 conversations held by 460 people, with 425 new registrations in the window. An active conversation averaged 64 messages and the longest ran to 899. About 9% of everything we sent was a message she opened herself rather than a reply.

Three shares from the same window are worth printing because they contradict how this category usually sells itself. Photos came up in 7.37% of messages and explicit requests in 4.34% — and memory, the thing CrushOn.AI sells in kilobytes across six tiers, came up in 0.36%. Our reply timings are the one pair of numbers we can't make tidy: the average gap before a reply was 17 seconds, while the median sat at 210. The two don't line up the way you'd expect them to, and printing both beats picking the flattering one.

What CrushOn.AI does better than we do

Creation is the honest answer, and it isn't close. Every character on CrushOn.AI was written by somebody who wanted it to exist, which is why the grid holds a Thai field medic, a Russian-language stutterer and a Naruto campaign side by side. Their Terms go further than hosting it: Diamonds sent to a character become that creator's income, with a creator rewards programme, paid content unlockable with Diamonds, and accrued-earnings protections written into the contract. We have no editor and no user submissions of any kind — our characters are written in-house, and nobody outside the company can add one or earn from one.

The published detail is the second thing, and it's the reason this comparison was possible to write. Six live tiers with memory sizes, stored-message counts, concurrent-conversation limits, reply-length caps, voice slots and a named retired plan is a level of disclosure we don't match — our own memory has no number attached because we don't have one worth quoting. Group chat comes with every paid CrushOn tier and we have none. Voice messages, unlimited AI voice replies and up to thirty custom voice slots are theirs too, and the whole thing runs in a browser where a conversation can be read on any screen you log in from.

Where we come up short

The editor is the gap that decides most of these searches. If the character you want doesn't exist yet, we're the wrong place: there's no builder, no traits to edit, no user-made bots, and no way to bring a character card over from anywhere else. Our cast is dozens of characters written in-house, which means no tag browse, no rankings page, no creators to follow and nothing to search. The library is the whole appeal of a site like CrushOn.AI, and a short fixed roster is not a quiet version of that — it's a different product.

Three more, plainly. There's no group chat here, so putting several characters in one thread has no equivalent on our side. Free photos are capped at ten a week, which is a small number next to a site where image generation is a listed feature. And that 210-second median reply is the honest version of a fast-companion pitch: half of what we send lands more than three and a half minutes after the message it answers, which inside a messenger thread is long enough to notice.

Who each one fits

If the appeal is writing your own character and being paid when other people talk to it, stay where you are — CrushOn.AI's creator rewards programme has no equivalent among the alternatives below, and janitor's 15-million-user claim is the biggest audience for a bot you build. If you want the largest library and don't mind how it's funded, PolyBuzz claims twenty million characters and discloses the 210 advertising partners behind "free". If a real store listing with reviews and refunds matters more than a big claim, Joyland is on Google Play and the other four aren't. If an explicit content stance published on the front page is the deciding factor, Muah.AI states one in its page title. And if what's wearing you down is the balance — six tiers, three currencies, credits per reply, a package on top of the membership — ours costs $9.99 a month for Premium or $19 for Ultra, runs with no adult-content filter, and happens inside WhatsApp or Telegram rather than a site you have to remember to open.

Still open, and why

Several things here can only be settled by somebody holding an account, and they're listed rather than guessed at. What one message actually costs in credits, and whether an Ultra model burns more per reply than a Pro one, isn't published — so 6,000 credits a month can't be converted into evenings. Whether unspent credits roll over at renewal isn't stated either. What the "Filtered" badge on a character card restricts, and how the Community Guidelines land inside an actual conversation, needs someone to try it and report back. Whether any CrushOn.AI listing exists on Google Play or the App Store under TECHIEPIE LTD is unconfirmed. Coin and Diamond pack prices sit behind a login. And PolyBuzz's own FAQ entry titled "Does PolyBuzz have a NSFW filter?" stayed collapsed, so its answer isn't quoted here.

Sources and methodology

Every figure above about CrushOn.AI came from crushon.ai itself on 30 September 2026 — the homepage, the pricing page under both billing toggles, the store page, the Community Guidelines and the Terms of Use, at the addresses below. The janitor, PolyBuzz, Joyland and Muah.AI claims came from those companies' own pages or, for Joyland, its Google Play listing, on the same day. The Android download was checked by request and returned a redirect to a versioned file, which is quoted as the filename it gave. Nothing here rests on a forum thread or a third-party write-up, and where a number is behind a signup it's marked as not public instead of estimated. Our own figures are production aggregates for the thirty days ending 1 September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best CrushOn.AI alternative?
It depends on which part you're replacing. For writing your own character and earning from it, no other product here matches CrushOn.AI's own creator rewards programme, and janitor claims the largest audience at 15M+ users. For the biggest library, PolyBuzz claims over 20 million characters. For a store listing you can read reviews and refund policy on, Joyland is on Google Play. For a flat price with no credits, inside WhatsApp or Telegram, that's ours.
How much does CrushOn.AI cost per month?
Six live memberships on its own pricing page: Standard $5.99, Premium $14.99 marked down from $19.99, Luxe $39.99, Elite $89.99 and Imperial $199.99, plus a free tier at zero. A separate Pro Models chat package runs $24.99 a month on top of whichever membership you hold. Paid annually the same tiers read $58.88, $94.88, $299.99, $799.99 and $1,799.99.
Is there a free CrushOn.AI alternative?
Several, with different catches. PolyBuzz calls itself "a Free, Private, and Unlimited AI Chat platform" and its consent dialog names 210 advertising partners that may receive device data. Joyland and janitor both let you browse without an account and publish no membership price at all. CrushOn.AI's own free tier gives 100 message credits a month and deletes chat history after 7 days of inactivity. Ours has a free tier with photos capped at ten a week.
Does CrushOn.AI really have no filter?
Its page title says "No Filter NSFW Character AI Chat" and its description promises "unrestricted NSFW AI interactions". The Community Guidelines linked from that same page say "Avoid depicting explicit sexual activity and stimulation", permit implied sexual activity "when contextually appropriate", list pornography among prohibited illegal activities, and ban images "indistinguishable from real photos". What that means inside a specific conversation isn't something either page settles.
What are sites like CrushOn.AI?
The closest in shape are the other user-made character libraries: janitor, PolyBuzz and Joyland all run a public catalogue with a builder attached, and all three were readable without an account on 30 September 2026. Muah.AI is a different shape — one companion, a stated uncensored position, and almost nothing published before a login. Ours is different again: a fixed in-house cast with nothing to browse, delivered inside WhatsApp and Telegram.
Is anything better than CrushOn.AI for a long conversation?
On the mechanics of a long conversation CrushOn.AI publishes more than its rivals do — 8K to 24K memory, 200 to 1,500 stored messages per character, up to 30 open conversations per character. The catch is that a reply spends message credits, and what one message costs isn't published, so a monthly allowance can't be turned into hours. A flat price removes that arithmetic; it doesn't buy a bigger memory window.
Can I get CrushOn.AI from the App Store or Google Play?
No link to either store appears on crushon.ai. The site offers a direct Android download from apk.co-cdn.com, which resolved to crushonai-s-6.34.3.1113.apk — a sideloaded install rather than a store one. Its Terms of Use do mention apps distributed through Apple and Google, and store searches turn up similarly named apps from unrelated developers, so treat the listing question as unconfirmed.
What happens to my CrushOn.AI chats if I stop paying?
The pricing page states that paid plans keep chat history "during the Membership Period", and that the free plan deletes it after 7 days of inactivity. Read together, that means a lapsed membership drops you onto the free plan's retention rule rather than keeping what the paid one stored. Exactly how that plays out on an existing account is the kind of thing only an account holder can confirm.
Is TooShy a replacement for CrushOn.AI?
Only for one of the reasons people leave. There's no character editor, no user-made bots, no catalogue to browse and no group chat — if the library is why you're there, this isn't it. What's different is a flat $9.99 or $19 a month with nothing metered per message, no adult-content filter, and a companion who writes to you inside WhatsApp or Telegram rather than on a site you have to open.
