Best Telegram Roleplay Bots in 2026

Most “roleplay bot” lists pad themselves out; few of the bots in them are built for roleplay, and only one sells it by name. HoneyChat runs a Telegram page titled “AI Roleplay in Telegram” with memory, custom characters and genres that run up to full RPG campaigns. Girls In Sync is character chat with a creator and paid voice calls, an open-source bot on GitHub does group-chat roleplay if you will host it yourself, and ours is a companion chat rather than a story engine, which puts us last on the measure used below.

Two kinds of roleplay bot

A roleplay bot in Telegram usually means one of two things. The first is a character you open a private chat with, who stays in role, remembers what happened and answers in her own voice; HoneyChat and Girls In Sync both work that way. The second is a bot you add to a group, which plays a game master or a cast for everyone in the room. The only one of those we could read about is Flagro/TelegramRPBot on GitHub, whose README describes “a full roleplay experience in your telegram group chats” and adds, in its own words, “Currently this is the work in progress.”

What the order below measures

The order is set by one thing: how much roleplay machinery the product's own pages describe. Scenes and genres, a memory that spans sessions, control over the character, and a clear way to start. Catalogue size and price are shown in the cards but not scored. By that measure we come last, and the sections after the cards say why.

Ordered by how much roleplay machinery each product's own pages describe, not by catalogue size or price.

HoneyChat, in its own words

HoneyChat's roleplay page promises characters “who stay in character, remember every scene, and build stories with you.” It counts 100+ characters and lists the genres it supports as romance, fantasy, isekai, full RPG campaigns and whole worlds with scenarios. Memory is described as semantic and long-term, tracking storylines and “what happened three chapters ago.” You can write your own character: the page offers 80+ appearance options and personality parameters covering archetype, backstory, speech style and relationship dynamics. Voice replies are available on every plan, free included.

The plan table is where roleplay and adult content get tangled. The free tier is labelled “Romance & flirting” with 20 messages a day; Basic, at $4.99 a month, is labelled “18+ content unlocked”; Premium is $9.99 with unlimited messages; VIP is $19.99 and adds a choice of AI model; Elite is $39.99 and is labelled “Uncensored RP models, full 18+”; Ultimate is $99.99. The character allowance climbs from 1 on free to 3, 10 and 20 on the next three tiers, then unlimited. Yet the same page's FAQ says that picking “Instant 18+” at signup opens explicit conversation from the first message, and the content policy says HoneyChat “is not an unrestricted adult-content engine.” The policy allows consensual fictional roleplay and non-graphic erotic themes, and puts erotic media behind restrictions. Read all three before assuming what a given tier lets a story do. Telegram's own page for the bot showed “77 231 monthly users” on 20 October 2026. Our roundup of HoneyChat alternatives goes through the same plan table and policy.

Girls In Sync and the bot you host yourself

Girls In Sync is a different shape. Its title promises 800+ characters on Telegram, its site links a bot at t.me/GirlsInSyncBot, and its sidebar carries a “Create Your Own” builder. Nothing on its homepage or pricing page mentions roleplay, scenes or stories; the pitch is companions you pick and talk to. The free tier is a one-time allowance of 5 messages with one custom character. Premium is $5.99 a month for unlimited messages, voice messages and five custom characters; Ultra is $24.99 with unlimited custom characters, a priority queue and “Exclusive characters.” Photos and video draw on tokens, sold at $1.99 for 100, $7.99 for 500 and $19.99 for 1500, and live voice calls are billed in separate minutes, with a trial of up to 2 minutes. Payment can be card, Telegram Stars or USDT.

The open-source option asks the most of you. Flagro/TelegramRPBot is MIT-licensed, had 7 stars on GitHub on 20 October 2026, and was last updated on 31 July 2026. Setup means an OpenAI API key, a bot token from BotFather, a database and Docker. In return the README lists chat modes you define by description, a command for adding facts about each person in the group, an auto-engage switch that lets the bot reply when it decides to, usage limits and bans. It is a tool to run, not a service to open, and the README states plainly that the work is unfinished.

Our own numbers

Over the 30 days to 15 October 2026 our companions handled 450,678 messages across WhatsApp and Telegram. That is an aggregate from our production database; no conversation text or person can be read from it, and none of the other products publishes a figure to set beside it. We have no roleplay-specific breakdown, so the number shows scale and nothing about how many of those messages were stories.

Where the others do better than we do

HoneyChat does roleplay on purpose and we do not: genres, campaigns, scenarios and a character editor are all on its page. It is also cheaper to start, at $4.99 for Basic against our $9.99, and its free tier gives 20 messages a day where our Telegram trial gives 100 a week. Girls In Sync lets you build a companion of your own even on the free plan, and it has live voice calls, which we do not have in any form. The GitHub bot is the only one here that works in a group chat, and the only one that costs nothing beyond the model fees you pay yourself.

Where we fall short

TooShy has no character creator, no scenario tools, no group chats and no way to hand a character a story you wrote. Every companion comes from a curated cast of dozens written in-house, and the thread is a conversation with one of them rather than a game with rules. Memory is the same three layers on every plan, but we do not publish how far back it reaches. Adult content is on the paid plans: the free Telegram trial brings a conversation up to the threshold without crossing it, and Premium and Ultra both open it. WhatsApp is paid from the first message.

Who each one fits

If you want a story with a setting, a plot you steer, your own character sheets, or friends in the same room, HoneyChat is the closest fit that is already built, the GitHub bot covers the group case for anyone willing to host it, and Girls In Sync suits someone who wants companions of their own making plus calls. If what you want is one character who writes first, sends a voice note or a photo in the middle of her day and picks the thread back up in the chat list beside everyone else you message, that is what ours does. Premium is $9.99 a month, Ultra $24.99, with optional photo and video packs from $6.99 for subscribers.

Still to settle by hand

A few answers need an account or a card rather than a public page. How HoneyChat's plan labels square with its “Instant 18+” signup option. Whether its memory holds up over a long campaign. Whether Girls In Sync supports scenario-style roleplay at all, since its pages never say. How well the GitHub bot copes in a busy group. How many tokens a Girls In Sync photo costs. Each of those needs hands on the product, so none is answered above.

How we checked the facts

Every claim about HoneyChat and Girls In Sync comes from pages we loaded on 20 October 2026: HoneyChat's roleplay, AI-girlfriend and home pages, its legal documents and its bot's page on Telegram; Girls In Sync's homepage, pricing page and the bot link in its page source. The GitHub bot is described from its README and the repository's public details on the same day. None of it came from signing up or sending a message. Where a page contradicts another page of the same company, the contradiction is reported rather than resolved. Our own figures are production aggregates over the window named above.

Frequently asked questions

Which Telegram bot is best for roleplay?
Of the ones we could read about, HoneyChat describes the most roleplay machinery: genres up to full RPG campaigns, long-term memory and a character editor, with a free tier of 20 messages a day. Whether it is best for you depends on the plan you need; its adult-content labels and its signup options disagree with each other, so check what your tier does before paying.
Can I do group roleplay in a Telegram chat?
Only with the open-source Flagro/TelegramRPBot among the products we read about, and you have to host it yourself with a bot token and an OpenAI key. Its README says it is a work in progress. We found no group-chat feature on the HoneyChat or Girls In Sync pages we read, and TooShy has none.
Is Telegram roleplay free?
Partly. HoneyChat gives 20 free messages a day, Girls In Sync a one-time allowance of 5, and TooShy's Telegram trial 100 messages a week. The GitHub bot is free software, but you pay for the OpenAI usage and the server yourself.
Does a Telegram roleplay bot remember the story?
HoneyChat says it uses semantic long-term memory and remembers scenes across sessions; that is its own claim and we have not tested it. TooShy keeps memory in three layers, the same on every plan, without a published limit on how far back it goes. Girls In Sync's pages do not describe its memory.
Can I create my own character on a Telegram bot?
On HoneyChat yes, with 80+ appearance options and personality settings, and the number of characters you can keep depends on your plan. On Girls In Sync yes: one on the free plan, five on Premium and unlimited on Ultra. TooShy has no character creator; its cast is written in-house.
Does TooShy do roleplay?
In the loose sense that you talk to a character who stays herself. We have no scenarios, no game-master mode, no group scenes and no way to import a character, so it is not a good fit for campaigns. Premium is $9.99 a month and Ultra $24.99; the Telegram trial is free.
Can I pay for a Telegram roleplay bot with Telegram Stars?
HoneyChat and Girls In Sync both say so on their pages: HoneyChat advertises Stars and crypto, and Girls In Sync lists 300 Stars for Premium and 1250 for Ultra alongside card and USDT. TooShy prices in dollars on its pricing page.
