Perchance AI Girl Alternatives: What Gets Kept

By Sam Reeves, TooShy Editorial
A row of empty dark drawers, one of them pulled open and holding nothing

Perchance's AI girl generator is free, asks for no account and keeps nothing on its server — and that last part is the whole bargain. Its own privacy policy says the image and text plugins do not store what you type, and that logging in does not tie your generation requests to your account. So there is no gallery waiting for you tomorrow, no chat that remembers last night, and nothing to delete, because nothing was written down. If that suits you, stop reading and go use it. If you want the picture and the conversation to still exist next week, the question stops being “is it free” and becomes “who keeps my stuff, and for how long” — which is what the seven products below answer in their own published words.

People arrive at Perchance from two different searches that look alike. One is for a picture: a face, right now, with no card and no sign-up screen. The other is for someone to talk to, where the point is continuity — she knows what you told her on Tuesday. Perchance is built for the first and borrows the shape of the second, and the gap between those two is where most of the disappointment comes from.

What Perchance actually is

Perchance.org is not an AI girlfriend product. It is a site for building random generators, where every page is a fork of another page — “all pages on Perchance are a fork of another, except one,” as its terms put it. The AI tools are plugins that any of those generators can import. An account exists only so you can create generators of your own: the signup dialog states plainly that it “doesn't save or store any data related to your interactions as a user of generators on Perchance,” and that you are emailed only at your request.

The page people mean when they type the query lives at /ai-girl-image-generator and is titled “AI Girl Generator (free, no sign-up, no limits).” Its neighbours carry the same promise in the same parentheses — “AI Character Chat (online, free, no sign-up, unlimited)”, “AI Chat & Roleplay (online, free, no sign-up, unlimited)”, “AI Girlfriend (online, free, no sign-up, unlimited)”. Note the address: /ai-girl-generator, the one people guess at, currently serves an “Ai Bot idea generator” instead. Advertising pays for all of it, and the policy explains that ads run inside sandboxed iframes so the ad scripts cannot read what you type into the page — the admin asks heavy AI users to log out and switch off their ad blocker, which is an unusual request to find in a privacy policy.

The terms were last updated on 18 July 2026, set a minimum age of 18, are governed by the law of Singapore and provide the service AS IS. On output they are generous and unambiguous: “Perchance doesn't place any restrictions on what you use your AI-generated images/text for,” attribution is not required, and the site does not claim copyright on what you make. The catch sits one section over. Anything you post publicly — a generator, a gallery image, a forum comment — is a Contribution, and Contributions carry an “unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual” licence to the site. Keeping your output to yourself and publishing it are very different acts there.

What it keeps, which is close to nothing

On storage the policy is specific in a way most of this industry is not. The ai-text-plugin behind the chat and story generators “does not store your data on the server.” The text-to-image-plugin does not either, unless you press the heart button to put an image in a public gallery, at which point of course it does. Some generators add a save button that uploads your story or character so you can share it. And logging in “does not associate your user account with your AI generation requests, or any other data you input into generators.”

Read that as a feature and it is a strong one. Read it as a limitation and it is also true: there is no history, no memory between sessions, no account page listing what you made. The policy is blunt about the reason — anyone can publish a generator, so “you should treat each page like it's a random page on the internet,” and whether a particular generator stores something is up to whoever built it, not to Perchance. You are not using one product with one storage promise. You are using a hosting platform with thousands of pages on it.

What the others keep, in their own words

Every alternative below stores the conversation, because storing it is the product. What differs is how long, and whether the company will say. Candy.ai is the most explicit: account data for three years after your last activity, possibly shortened to one year after activity or after a paid subscription ends, or until you ask for deletion; financial records for ten years under tax law; marketing data for two years at most.

SoulGen puts a number on the content itself rather than the account. Text you enter and the content it produces “will be stored in our server for 7 days,” after which it is deleted automatically, and there is a delete button for creations plus a permanent account deletion path. That is the shortest published window of the set, and it is the one most people would not guess from the outside.

Nomi ties everything to the account: deleting it deletes your personal information “within 28 or so days of confirmation,” with an exception for material already in its training or communications archives, which it says would no longer be attributable to you. Replika's terms make account deletion irreversible and say all data associated with your use is then removed permanently, while reserving the right elsewhere to set limits on how long content is retained at all. DreamGF has a retention section with no period in it — only that data is kept “as long as necessary” and that it reviews this regularly.

Ours is on the same page as everyone else's and reads the same way: conversation data and account data are retained while the account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion, payment records are kept for seven years for tax, and aggregate analytics are kept indefinitely. Thirty days is better than three years and worse than seven days. We would rather write it down than leave the row blank.

Seven products, ordered by how specific each company's published retention promise is — shortest and clearest first, with the ones that publish no period at the back. Perchance sits outside the order as the thing being compared against. Every cell comes from a company's own terms, privacy notice or product page, all read on 13 October 2026.

Section 11 of its privacy policy keeps personal data “only for as long as necessary” and says regular status checks decide when it should go. No number, no window, no trigger. The EEA, Swiss and UK erasure rights are listed, so the route exists — you just cannot know what happens if you never ask.

One warning about reading the table. A short retention window is not the same as a good product, and a long one is not a scandal — a companion that remembers you has to keep the record that lets it. What the column is actually for is matching the promise to what you want: if you want to be forgotten, pick someone who says in writing how fast that happens.

Our own numbers

For completeness, our side of the table: Premium is $9.99 a month and Ultra is the tier above it, Telegram starts free, and there is no adult-content filter on any tier. Photo generation is quota-based rather than metered per message — ten photos a week before you pay anything, forty a month on Premium — so you are not counting tokens while you type.

Memory is three layers deep and the same on every tier, not sold as an upgrade, which is the opposite of how most of this market prices it. There is no character editor: every companion is written in-house, so you cannot build your own and you cannot import someone else's. On an openness axis that is a straight loss against Perchance, and it is the reason the two sites attract different people.

What Perchance does better

Three things, none of them small. It costs nothing and asks for nothing — no email, no card, no cancellation to remember in three months. Its limits are not published because the pages say there aren't any: free, no sign-up, unlimited, in the title of every generator. And the ad sandboxing is a real engineering choice with a real cost — the policy admits it roughly doubles page load — made so that the ad scripts cannot see your prompts.

The fourth is openness. You can fork any generator on the site and change it, build your own without asking permission, monetise it with your own ads, and use the images and text it produces commercially with no attribution and no licence fee. Nothing in the paid half of this market offers that, and nothing is likely to.

Where we fall short

We need an account and a messenger number, which is a bigger ask than a blank browser tab. We store the conversation on a server, for thirty days past deletion, because a companion who forgets you between sessions is not the thing we are selling. WhatsApp has been paid-only since 4 August 2026, so the free road in is Telegram.

And the catalogue is closed. You cannot write a character, edit one, or bring one in from elsewhere. If what you want is a generator you control rather than a companion someone else wrote, we are the wrong shape and no feature list will fix that.

Who each of these suits

  • Perchance — you want a face in the next thirty seconds, you are not coming back for it, and you would rather give nobody an email address.
  • SoulGen — you want the generation stored long enough to download and no longer; seven days is the published window.
  • TooShy — you want the conversation to continue in WhatsApp or Telegram and you accept that continuing means it is stored.
  • Candy.ai — you want a full product with a published retention schedule, and three years of account data does not bother you.
  • Nomi — you want a long-running companion and a clean deletion path, with the training-archive exception understood up front.
  • Replika — you want the longest-running product here and an irreversible delete button, and you are not relying on adult content.
  • DreamGF — you want the picture-plus-chat bundle and you are comfortable that no retention period is published.

How we checked the facts

Every cell above was read on the company's own pages on 13 October 2026 — terms, privacy notices and the pages the products describe themselves on — and the exact addresses are listed below. Where a company publishes no number, the row says so rather than estimating one. Our own figures are production aggregates, never individual conversations, and no message text leaves our systems.

Open questions

Two things we could not settle. Perchance's generator interfaces render in the browser, so the controls, the model behind the AI girl generator and any rate limiting behind the word “unlimited” are not readable from the page source, and we have not published a guess. And nothing on the site describes a paid tier, a queue or a subscription — which we read as “not public” rather than “does not exist.” If either changes, this comparison changes with it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Perchance AI girl generator save my images?
Not on its server, by its own privacy policy: the text-to-image-plugin “does not store your data on the server.” The exception is the heart button, which puts an image into a public gallery, and that upload is of course stored. Some generators also add a save button of their own. So the default is that the picture exists only in your browser until you download it, and closing the tab is the end of it.
Is Perchance really free with no sign-up?
The generator pages say so in their titles — “AI Girl Generator (free, no sign-up, no limits)” — and nothing on the site describes a paid tier, a subscription or a priority queue. Advertising pays for it, which the policy states openly, along with the request that heavy AI users log out and disable their ad blocker to help cover the cost. An account exists, but only so you can create your own generators.
Does Perchance have a content filter?
Its published rules do not contain a prohibition on adult output. The prohibited-activities list covers fraud, harassment, impersonation, spam and bypassing security measures; the contributions section forbids anything violating child-protection law and anything that abuses a person; and the site reserves the right to reclaim an obscene username. The FAQ states that Perchance places no restrictions on what you use your AI-generated images or text for. Individual generators are built by other users, so each one's behaviour is the author's choice, not the platform's.
Why does Perchance not remember our conversation?
Because nothing is written down. The plugin that runs the chat generators does not store data on the server, and logging in does not connect your account to what you type. Memory in a companion product is a stored record of earlier conversations; with no record, each session starts from zero. That is the direct cost of the no-account, nothing-kept design, not a bug in a particular generator.
Which AI girlfriend app deletes your data fastest?
Of the products here that publish a number, SoulGen is shortest: entered text and the content made from it are stored for seven days and then deleted automatically. Nomi removes personal information within roughly 28 days of a confirmed account deletion. We delete conversation and account data within 30 days of account deletion. Candy.ai keeps account data for up to three years after your last activity unless you ask for it to go. DreamGF publishes no period at all.
Can I use Perchance images commercially?
Its FAQ says yes, in plain words: you are free to use the AI-generated images and text however you want, attribution is not required, and Perchance does not claim copyright on what you create. Read the next part too — anything you publish on the site itself, such as a generator or a gallery image, is a Contribution, and Contributions carry an “irrevocable, perpetual” licence to Perchance. Using your output elsewhere and publishing it there are two different decisions.
What is the difference between Perchance and an AI girlfriend app?
Perchance is a platform for building and forking generators, with AI plugins any page can import; an AI girlfriend app is one product with one character system, one account and one storage promise. The practical difference shows up on the second visit. A generator gives you an image or a scene and forgets you; an app gives you something that is still there, which is also the thing you later have to delete.
Is perchance.org safe to use?
Its own policy gives the honest framing: anyone can publish a generator there, so “you should treat each page like it's a random page on the internet” and never enter private or sensitive data. The platform does two unusual things in your favour — ad scripts run inside sandboxed iframes and cannot read what you type, and the site documents how to open an untrusted page inside a network-isolated sandbox. What a particular generator does with what you type is down to whoever wrote it.
